Veneers at Carroll Creek Dental

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells bonded to the front of your teeth to improve their color, shape, or size — a popular way to achieve a fuller cosmetic smile makeover. We offer both porcelain and composite resin options, so we can recommend the right fit for your goals and budget.

The Process

  1. Consultation — we discuss your goals and examine your teeth to determine if veneers are right for you
  2. Preparation — a thin layer of enamel is gently removed to make room for the veneer
  3. Impressions — for porcelain veneers, impressions are taken and sent to a dental lab to custom-craft your veneers
  4. Temporary veneers — worn while your permanent porcelain veneers are being made (composite veneers skip this step, since they’re applied directly)
  5. Placement — your permanent veneers are bonded in place, with your bite and fit checked and adjusted

Porcelain vs. Composite Veneers

  • Porcelain veneers: More durable and stain-resistant, with the most natural-looking result. Typically last 10–15 years or longer with good care. Usually takes two visits.
  • Composite resin veneers: Applied directly to the tooth, often completed in a single visit. More affordable, with less enamel removal required, but generally less durable (5–7 years) and more prone to staining over time than porcelain.
